About the Author
Shea grew up in Rochester, Minnesota with her loving family and pets. She has loved books ever since she was a little girl when her mother first read her the Little House on the Prairie series and later read, on her own, The Giving Tree, by Shel Silverstein. Shea has never known what she wants to do in her life, but she feels in her heart that reading and writing poetry will always be an everlasting endeavor.
Growing up, she loved writing very short stories and poems about things that she had discovered outdoors. Whenever she told her mother that she was bored, her mom would tell her, "Go outside! Explore! See what you can find and write about it," and so she did. Besides remembering this great advice, many things inspire Shea; she especially loves the poets Robert Creeley, Allen Ginsberg, and Charles Bukowski. Her favorite book, The Little Prince, by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, in which she carries everywhere she goes, inspires her daily and is always present in her mind. Shea adores the night sky and always keeps her window blinds open so she can see the stars when she goes to sleep.
